I might be producing a podcast for a buddy with a band who has a cd to promote and a well-established fan base.

Any suggestions of good podcasts by musical acts?

Any thoughts about what we should do?

They Might Be Giants have a podcast. It's good. Check it out.

Yeah, but I'd feel better about them if they were more decisive about the whole giant issue. I mean, how long have they been saying they might be giants?

All I know is that it's probably been long enough to move past the "might" stage and into one of acceptance: If they're not giants by now, then it's not going to happen. After a certain stage in your life, you just stop growing taller. It's a fact!

Ok, time for a useful post ;)

Try not to let the podcast turn into some kind of infomercial. Try to get the band to discuss anecdotes, personal stories, and experiences that not only inspired their album, but their musical careers.

I haven't listened in a bit, but I liked the BiddyCast (Lascivious Biddies) (http://www.podcastalley.com/podcast_details.php?pod_id=1455). I quit listening because it's not really my thing musically, but the stories the ladies told were interesting and amusing, and it a cool "unplugged" vibe going.

Both come to mind as podcasts by music artists that work as both marketing tools AND podcasts specifically for the bands.
