Old records used to have a B-side with hard-to-find tracks, live cuts or another great (non-radio) song, This popular podcast is adding more depth to it's programming by putting out a companion B-Side every week with extras, interviews, live performances and more!

I figured out the best way to do this was actually easy... put them both up at the same time, but date the B-Side just a little earlier... That way, for the subscribers who have the option to only download "newest" episode, don't get flooded with too much at once... they can look in the feed and see if they want to get it...

It turns out that about 1/4 of our 20,000 subscribers are getting the B-Side as well...

Hey, good move.

An alternative would be to create a second feed and slide your extras in there. But you'll probably get more listens your way.

Ten points to the first podcast to release a commentary track. To qualify, you MUST BE A SPOKEN WORD PODCAST.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the entire podcasting community is incredibly excited to discover what was on the B side of Avuncular Uncle's smash indie hit "Pedophile Dreams" on the My Space label—and now we know! Thanks Copperhead for the heads up…
