I'm pretty excited about something that my listeners and I are doing on my podcast "Phedippidations" (it's a podcast for runners, at steverunner.com).

We're putting together a "World Wide Half Marathon" in October! This is something that could only be done with podcasting, and it's just so cool.

To be honest, my show isn't for everyone; but if you know anyone who is as passionate about running as I am you might want to let them know about this event.

We set up a website: www.worldwidehalf.com where runners can register (this event is totally free).

A press release about the event is available here:

http://www.steverunner.com/FDIPWWHalfPress.htm

I can't think of a better medium, than a PodCast, where i could pull something like this off! You couldn't do this with commercial radio; and it's a very cool thing to know that on the weekend of October 7th and 8th runners all over the world will be running a half marathon "together".

I'll be playing "sound clips" from races all over the world, and reading "race reports" from runners...it's going to be just too cool.

Run long and taper

Thanks Gus! (Your show is excellent BTW);

We've already had 50 runners from around the world register for the race in just the past three days!

This is going to be such a cool event! I'm really "psyched" about it.

Congratulations Steve! Although you say your show isn't for everyone, there alot of us (including me) that think your excellent podcast should be in the top ten. Your production values are transendent!

Steve:

Thank you so much...I really appreciate you saying that!

I guess the reason I put out the disclaimer that "my show isn't for everyone" is that I'd hate to have someone check it out hoping to hear from an "elite expert runner".

Running is my passion...and the PodCast is a fun way to talk about it with other runners, but I'm no expert: I'm just a "middle of the pack runner"...but I really do appreciate your kind words.

It's pouring rain here in the Boston area, and I'm going out for my daily five mile run...that's passion! :)

Thanks again Steve
