I understand this question has been floating around the heads of a few podcasters around here...

Are there any Podcasters in the midwest or western Great Lakes region that are not going to the Podcast Expo in California this year that might want to have a smaller scale, less expensive meet-up in this region? Does anyone know of anybody trying to organize something like this? I'd be interested!

That sounds cool. I hear the Carolina's are beautiful.

Still, it'd be nice to find something a little closer to home! We could hold it on the shores of Lake Michigan and pretend that's an ocean if it makes it sound more glamorous! :D

if i can see from coast to coast in a plane, it's not an ocean

It's not our fault that we don't have California's smog problem :D

Anyway, we could squint our eyes and try not to look too far and still pretend it's one! Maybe we can pretend it's the Indian Ocean, because that's pretty small as oceans go!

We're working on a small meet-up in Chicago. E-mail me and I'll send details when we have 'em.

Eric -

I know it was already mentioned, but I'd highly recommend considering Podcastercon in North Carolina in January in addition to whatever else you decide. This year's meet-up was quite beneficial, and I have a feeling that next year's will be twice as much so.

Our show is in Michigan and we'd love to get together in the midwest somewhere. Chicago would be great. Also Cleveland or Detroit.

I think that all the podcasters should come to Hawaii for a meetup. We at the Hawaii Association of Podcasters (http://www.hawaiipodcasting.com) (HAP) would love to show you all around and share some Aloha. Just think of this...beautiful weather, lovely beaches and the friendliest people around.
