Hey, I wanted to shoot a quick "thank you" to anyone who voted for us, or traded a vote with us. We're listed, I believe the highest that we've ever been with the overall of 33 and #9 in Comedy!
I know it doesn't mean a great deal of you, but it does mean a lot to me. I really think we're starting to get noticed, and it makes it easier to do the show. After 90 shows and 11 months of podcasting, I'm starting to feel accepted. :)
Also thanks goes to the organizers of the podcast-o-rama because it seems that we've manage to keep at least twice the amount of listeners that we had before. i knew our numbers would go down a bit, but we have been able to keep people, which makes me happy.
If you would like to help more, feel free to give us a review of our show, either to post it here, your own website, or on iTunes. And you can still give us a call on our voicemail line: 206-666-4887 Also I have a Gizmo Voicemail, so search for me there: Frosty_ITRadio I have skype, but no voicemail: Frosty.ITRadio
Ok... long email. Short version, Thank you all!

dude. seriously. im sure a bunch of your votes are legit if you are "trading votes" that doesnt mean you're getting noticed. ask yourself, would you be there if you HADNT traded votes?
and that seems kinda bitter. so grats anyways, d00d.

Nacho, I've never been on your good side, why is that? I've never done anything for you to hate me the way that you seem to.
If you pay attention, month after month we get enough votes to stay within the Comedy top 50 to stay on the front page. We would have gotten the votes eventually.
Are you upset because I'm not a "sucessful" podcaster with no more than 200 listeners and you think that I'm wasting my time? Are you upset with people who do that? Are you upset because I graciously feel that I need to thank people for listening to us, and that I am a person that aims to please?
I don't make a lot of posts here, I know, but I have never said one bad thing about any "regular" let alone you Nacho. Who are you to sit in your high and mighty throne to cast stones upon podcasters such as myself? First it's the Podcast-o-rama, and now this. I'm sorry that Switched:on did not reach the finals, and I agree that they are a great show. But the matter of the fact is that what I am told is that the contest focused more on total votes than what the previous "rules" to the contest perceived. So that just means that I was able to get the votes for that, so why does that make it look like the votes on podcast alley not to be valid?
Besides, we never asked for anyone to vote for us. Honestly I don't know why people voted, I voted for the podcasts that I regularly listen to, and I never said in my comments that they need to vote for me. I couldn't care less if no one did. Am I happy that they did? Definately! That's why I wrote the initial post. I was overjoyed by what I felt was acceptance, finally, into the community.
So, yes... your comment seemed to be extremely bitter, and I just don't understand why there has to be so much hostility towards someone who is trying to do the same thing you are. We all have things that we want to say. We're all working towards the same goal. Maybe I'm just a little bitter, or maybe all of the quips that you've made in the past has finally gotten to me, but it appears to me that people like you are destroying the community that podcast alley appeared to have at one time.
Besides, after your remarks, just look at the number of votes we have... 20. How hard is it to get 20 votes? I'm just happy we were high in the charts because outside of the begining of the months, we would never see that kind of "support".
So yeah... Thanks d00d. :x

the podcast-O-ramam thing wasnt malice towards anyone else. it was just my loyalty to switched:on (and ignorance of any other show competing against them)
and you mentioned trading votes, so i went off on that. i think without proxy voting and trading votes, this place would be a lot better, no matter how little vote-trading goes on (yeah, only 9 pages in the latest vote-trading thread)
i stopped asking for PCA votes because of people abusing the system. i dont know how much you do it, but you said vote trading, and let me tell you
vote trading means nothing about your show. im sure you're aware of this anyways.
all vote trading does is boost up all the abusers and leave the fair-players in the dust. vote-trading can be thought of as taking 1 fair vote away from everyone else.
is there anything else besides this and podcast-o-rama ive been abusive during? (not challenging you, im wondering)

You're right, these were the only two times where it appeared that you were berating me, but I don't scour the forums, so the only impression that I have of you is the ones that I see, and lately all I've seen is a negative attitude towards me.
As far as vote trading, I agree with you, but only to a point. Yes, due to the vote trading certain show can get left behind and other shows can be put in a different light than they may or may not deserve. Although, this is just a common practice that you will quickly learn when you are in a business world. I have definately experienced first hand that it doesn't matter what you know, but it definately matters on who you know. There is no lying about that, and no denying that.
There are plenty of people that have shot up in status purely based on the fact that they were either at the right place at the right time, or they were able to be pulled up in status off of the coattails of other people. It's the best way to really "make it" in anything that you do. Good hard work is definately greatly appreciated by people around the world, but unless you align yourself with a certain person, or a certain group of people (whether it be a church, a special society, a highly influential boss) you won't be able to climb up the "ladder".
Now the reason why this "system" is put into our society because not everyone wants to rise to the top or climb the "ladder" and that's ok because people need to be at all levels. But that comes down to matter of choice. When it comes to me and podcasting, I feel that I'm one of the few people that just haven't found the right group of people to align with to really gain status. What I have found in the last few months though, despite the podcast-o-rama is a few podcasts that I really do enjoy listening to, and really would be close to calling them my friends despite the limited amount of time and/or communication that I have had with them. They seem to like me, and I know that I like them. They may or may not listen to the show that I do, but that's ok because they still mention my name and the show despite maybe not knowing what ITRadio really is or isn't about.
Long post, I know. I'm not a "simple" writer. Anyway, I was in a bad mood yesterday, and maybe took a little bit of it out on you, but I hope I explained a little bit about my thoughts towards vote trading and I hope I've given you a little bit of insight due to my experiences.
Take care Nacho. If you want to discuss more, feel free and I'll be definately willing to respond. And I always welcome anyone else to contribute their two cents.

i think the 'business world' and this are quite different. the voting should be about the podcast, not the podcaster's 'connections'. thas wut pisses me off.

Well, I hope you find your utopia. All of us are trying to find our way to perfection and how we all can "fit in". Good luck.

i am basis.. but i dont think the vote trading is that bad or good..
i dont think of podcasting as a biz.. but i know that some people are trying to get into normal radio or XM or what have you... i get it..
im not for or against that its not my job to judge other people actions. all i know is this. i like punky! its a show i would of Never listen to before now that i do listen to it have recommend it to 8 people and 4 of which has kept listening..
i would of never started watching "how to" but i have recommended it to every person who has a young daughter just going into high school that i have run across which is about 10 or so...
i can name more
also i started listen to your show mr. EL.. because you were on the vote thread and i was like well if punky! was good i wonder how many others were good.. so i looked.. i like your show a lot the only reason i bother listen to it was cos it was on that one thread.. and i still stand if you ever learn an animation software and made stories or shows you could kick ***... cos your stuff is funny.
The more people you connect with in life the better good and bad sometimes it makes you more experience as a person more complete, and that’s some good stuff.
im not talking about making money im talking about life..
Have a nice day everyone…
