I've saved up the money, and am EXTREMELY excited to get an iRiver T30 for recording podcasts... It says on the iRiver webite that you need Windows XP and Windows Media Player... Does anyone know if it'll work on a Mac too? Thanks!

I have the iRiver 799 and the disk that came with it had software for install on Mac. It works like a charm, however I have heard that in the iRiver T Series they did not allow it for use with the Mac OS. I could be wrong, but I also did a search and found only one exception where someone said when they plugged in their iRiver T30 that it just showed up like a mounted drive in Mac.

Well, I just ordered an iRiver iFP 899 of eBay... It comes with a download manager compatible with Mac OR PC... Thanks for the help!

Do NOT get an iRiver T30 to record podcasts. Several things.
No it does not work with a Macintosh. You need to use a Windows PC to get the files.
NO IT DOES NOT WORK WELL WITH A MICORPHONE. Unlike th 700 and 800 series, the T30 does NOT have a preamp built in. This means you need a preamp to use it - there aren't any good portable ones.
We bought one, we could not use it. We had to buy another iRiver. The T30 is not a podcaster machine. I hope you get this in time.

Uhm, sorry dude, but it DOES work with a Mac. The only thing you need, are a couple of bronze balls (or deep pockets) and the Australian firmware, and a PC to change the firmware over (after that you don't need any PC). So I tried it, and it worked... and it seems the site I've got the tip from is now noting some news on that field.

Or just straight to the iRiver support site (http://www.iriver.com/html/support/faq/sufq_view.asp?idx=387).
