Thinking of branching out into offering the usual tshirt/mug thingy on our podcast website - does anyone recommend a company with good quality stuff at a good price? I suppose they would have to be US based as that is where the majority of listeners for podcasts come from, but having a company that offers good rates for UK and Australian residents would be helpful as well.

I was severely disappointed with the quality of the tshirts from cafepress. The rest of the products looked fine though.

I use www.contagiousgraphics.com for t-shirts and www.psprint or www.stickerguy.com for stickers. Great quality!

I just ordered some things from Cafepress. We'll see how they turn out.

I suppose what I am looking for is a company that doesn't limit the amount of things you can offer. Cafepress wants you to pay $75 per year to be able to offer more things. For a podcast like mine we would be lucky to make a few dollars off shirts (money isn't really the reason I am getting into it to be honest), so a firm which offered a few more options would be helpful.

I will though check out Contagious and the Sticker Guy and see if they meet our needs.

What were the quality issues you had? Materials or printing? Was it transfer. silk screening, or another process?

It was a printing issue. It was definitely a thermal transfer image. I could've made the tshirts using iron-on sheets and the quality would've been better. Jim from Zipperfish sent me a mug that I think they used cafepress for and it is very nice.

Sounds like I should consider another source for T shirts!

Cafe Press stinks!

I agree with Adam..I make better Ts with my computer and an iron on. I ordered a standard ladies T...it's HUGE! So not flattering to the female figure. The Logo faded after 1 washing.

I also recently ordered a Ladies ringer/cap sleeved T from them and it shrunk so much that my Cat wouldn't even fit in it now! (I still wear it...just gotta stretch the **** outta it).

Thus far, I've had a good experience with Spreadshirt.com.

Their interface seems a little clunky but I'm real happy with the quality and variety of products -- the only exception being the long-sleeve baseball style shirt, which is very thin and also runs a size or two small ...

Feel free to check out what the storefront/merchandise looks like at the Steve Dupont Corporation Giftshop. https://www.spreadshirt.com/shop.php?sid=16601

Thanks, Steve. I was wondering if Spreadshirt was good. I'm thinking of going with them for shirts and with Cafe Press for mugs, bags and the like.

My Cafepress T-Shirt turned out just fine. I chose the direct printing. I haven't washed it yet so I can't comment on that but so far I have no problems at all.

"Direct printing?"
Is that an option, where you choose "direct printing" versus... something else? Do they give you different quality options?

Yes, there are two options.

Direct printing or heat transfer.

There's a part on the site that explains the pros and cons of each one.

Thanks! Somehow we missed that when we were poking around! More homework to do!
