View Full Version : Best headphones for pcs/ipods/mp3 players under £35

I no this topic might sound noobish but I dont want to waste £50 on a set of headphones like my friend so i need som advise.

I want to buy som Headphones that will work on my mp3 player and pc, which has good sound quality for rock and also voice/acoustic. I have a tight budget (£35) 'cause im savin up for a condesor microphone. Anyway what im annouyed about that on quite alot of headphones it doesn't specifcate what jack input it has??

Help!!! :x

im not sure you'd be able to find many headphones that dont have exactly what you need for basically everything, a 1/4'' stereo. if it doesn't specify, take it for granted that that's what it's got

best i have found are Sennheiser HD 457
great sound. very comfortable to wear for hour at a time

If these headphones are intended for sound editing for your podcast, spend the money (http://www.podcastpedant.com/2006/03/31/what-to-buy-first) and get a professional pair of headphones. It's more important than that microphone you're saving for.

If they're just for listening to music, or if you don't do serious post-production on your podcast, virtually anything from your local electronics giant will work. Cheap closed-ear headphones will usually sound better than cheap open-ear headphones, but they'll all have too much bass and not enough clarity. Because for music, that's what a lot of people prefer.

Great for podcasting on the move and wearing under a motorbike helmet too.. :)
