Just wondering if anyone has had and expearence with the Kiptronic ad service? If you dont know how it works, it only works (atm) with podcasts hosted with Libsyn, but it can places ads after an intro clip and before your show, or at the end of your show so that advertisers can buy 1000, or 5000 downlaods of their ad and then when those downlaods are up, it gets taken out.

Any feedback on this service?

To my knowledge there hasn't been any ads sold on it yet. It seems as though they are the sort of service that waits for advertisers to find them. I don't find that very promising, but I'm hoping to be proven wrong.

Anyone have a different experience?

Right now I am making the switch from a traditional web host to Libsyn. Once I get everything ported over I'll explore the Kiptronic rout and post back on my results. I think in an interview with Rob Walch, the guys from Libsyn and Kiptronic said they did have some ads sold but were still in the testing stages of their service. We'll see how it all goes down from there.

I, too, have been looking into going with Kiptronic. We have a daily music show podcast and our downloads are averaging just over 3,000 per day (show). I really like what it says on Kiptronic's FAQ page (http://kiptronic.com/podcaster/faq.do). The only downside to this, for me, is having to sign up with LibSyn for hosting the show files. That's an extra $30/month that I don't need to spend right now. Obviously, if I can make that $30 back quickly from a few sponsors or advertisments, then it would be worthwhile, but how do I know I'll get that much, how quickly will it happen, and how much will I be able to actually make?

I'd really like to hear from anyone out there who's currently using Kiptronic and report back on how this service has worked for them.

What about you, Mike? Any feedback on your experience with LibSyn/Kiptronic?

Over at comicgeekspeak we've been running ads for Kiptronic. Our first one, Gamefly, we have yet to receive compensation for. Kiptronic claims they haven't received anything from Gamefly's end although Kiptronic has urged us to continue with other ads.

Needless to say we're keeping a close eye on the deal.

Podtrac has been very quiet as well. I think they're only concerned with their big ticket podcasts.... like TWiT who just got 3 pretty big sponsorships, but yet nothing for the small guys.

I'm starting to think that none of these podcast advertising companies are in it for the small guy.

Podtrac helped me get 1 ad (HBO) which I did receive payment for, but I haven't heard anything else from them since. I keep my info on thier site up to date and continue to tell my listeners to fill out the survey, but I recently started pitching certain companies on my own. Lets see if I have better luck with those.

For what its worth the team at RawVoice have done 2 pretty big advertising deals for those that are part of the community at Blubrry.com we have over 100 shows in current ad buys.

This is one of the beauties of Blubrry.com you dont have to have a big show to make money.

The Podtrac guys sent out invites to a reception the night before the Podcast Expo, so perhaps they'll have something new to introduce there...

never received it. this isn't the first time i missed mails from them.

I was part of their auction when they first started, and they never told me anything about what happened with said auction. i know i didn't get anything, but it would have been nice to hear form them about it. I've talked to Mark on skype before, and he is a good guy. I just don't understand why I never get any communication from them. That, and not one single offer yet in months and months of inclusion.

I didn't receive the invite either. Although I can't make it to the Expo it would've been nice to hear something new from them.

As for Blubrry, I have one podcast signed on with them, and I use a quick 5 second bumper to promote them. Although I'm not part of the 100 in the current ad, I can say that those folks over there are good people, with the podcaster's interest in mind.

Maybe he though it wasn't too impressive that you don't even know your own feed link (check your signature).

We didn't care for the survey at Podtrac. Wasn't geared towards our audience. Also wrote to them with some technical questions, both via the support page AND through the address on the email they sent to invite us to join. Got so fed up with having to pimp the crappy survey and the total lack of communication, I sent a terse note asking them to remove us from the service. At least they did that!

Oh yeah, before I did that, we did get an email about their expo event.

Yeah I mailed them on the 20th (right after posting here) and have not heard form them. Even checked my spam box. I'm about 2 more steps away from taking down the prefix.

It's a shame too because they have a great idea, but they just aren't communicating anymore. If they're going to have levels of podcasters, they need to keep us all informed in one way or another.

The survey did help because it's now my data. If I want to present it myself to an advertiser, I have something to show. I just wish they would open their ears a bit more. I want to support them because of their ideas. However, I won't support their lack of action.
