Greetings Fellow PodCasters and PodCast listeners...

I produce a goofy little podcast called "Phedippidations" ("Fed-ip-id-ations") which is all about running, and training to run marathons.

I'll be PodCasting several shows in April, about the Boston Marathon, and will be podcasting as I run the 110th Boston on April 17th (the show is scheduled to come out later that week).

If you’d like to follow my progress while you’re at home or on the race course (if you happen to be in Boston on Patriots Day), then send me your email (or the email of you cell phone/page) and I’ll add you to my Boston Marathon “email notification alert” list.Â*
Â*
mailto:steve@steverunner.com
Â*
As I run the race you’ll receive messages updating you on my progress through the “Verizon Wireless Athlete Alert Program”.Â* I’ll be wearing a “computer chip” on one of my running shoes which will be detected by sensors as I run the race.
Â*
A total of five notifications will be sent out, as I cross:
Â*
(1) Starting line in Hopkinton (E.T. 12:30 PM)
(2) 10K mark (6.2 miles) in Framingham, (E.T. 1:30 PM EDT)
(3) Halfway mark (13.1 miles) in Wellesley, (E.T. 2:30 PM EDT)Â*
(4) 30K mark (18 miles) Heartbreak Hill (E.T. 3:20 PM EDT)
(5) Finish line (26.2 miles) in Boston. (E.T. 4:50 PM EDT)
Â*
You can also go to the Boston Marathon website (http://www.bostonmarathon.org) and follow the menu options for tracking runners.Â* My number is #23116.
Â*
I'll be sending out a test message on Marathon Eve which will come directly from Verizon Wireless, the provider of this service.Â*Â*
Â*
If there is another email/phone/pager address that you’d like me to use, or if you’d like to be removed from this list, please let me know.Â*
Â*
If you’re going to watch the marathon and would like to receive notification on your cell phone or pager, forward me the address/number and I’ll add you to the list. Â*I’ll post a picture of what I’ll be wearing on the website in the days before the race.
Â*
Have a great Patriots Day.

Run long, and taper!

- Steve
