Hello,
I just received my Behringer UB802 Eurorack mixer, but it didn't come with any cables. What cables do I need to purchase in order to use this with my laptop computer? Is there also software that I need to add?

I don't have my mic yet but it will be a non-usb professional style MXL mic.
I need to find out how to hook this mixer inbetween the computer and my mic. It doesn't have a USB port of any sort.
There are a lot of podcasters that own this mixer so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Correct - this is not a USB mixer.
You need to connect the mixer up to your computer via your soundcard.
If you have a traditional internal (either onboard or PCI) sound card, you will probably be best served by getting 2 cables that go from male stereo 1/8" connection (like the one on most "small" headhpones) to 2 male RCA connectors. Put the 1/8" end of one the cables into the line-out jack on your sound card, and connect the corresponding RCA connectors to the tape-in jacks on the mixer. Put the 1/8" end of the other cable into the line-in jack and the corresponding RCA connectors in the tape-out jacks on the mixer.
If you want sounds you play on your computer to go back to your computer when you're recording, make sure the "tape to mix" button is down, otherwise, make sure the "tape to ctrl room" is down.

This is exactly what I needed. Thanks Ferg! So online, Radio Shack, or Best Buy for the cables?
The tape to mix and tape to ctrl room are huge tips since I us a huge amount of computer sound effects.
Thanks again!!!

Yah, you can get them, probably at Best Buy and definitely at radio shack. I tend to buy all of my cables online or at music stores, because I lean toward getting higher end cables. I have a lot of wiring running around my desk/studio, and I find it to be worthwhile to have better cables because the integrity of the actual wiring is better, and they tend to be better shielded, which allows me to be a little less careful with my routing of the cables.
However, if you're going through a min 1/8" jack on an onboard sound card, chances are that's going to be your bottleneck in terms of connections, so you'd probably be just as well off with cheap cables.

I wish I could help, but I use that mixer with a tascam interface.
It's a great mixer for 49.99
What MXL are you getting?

I like it
