There is no way to restrict or censor podcasts, since the rules of one country don't apply to another. If they restrict podcasting in one country, the podcaster would just post his/her podcasts on a server residing in another country, so podcasting would remain free because of the nature of the internet.

Have you ever heard of international copyright laws. They are enforced.
Please dont take this too seriously.because,.....

Obviously you didn't read where I stated that these weren't created with any factual basis.

There will always be ways for individual countries to restrict access to content/content creation. Just try to create a blog post in China, Microsoft, Google, and Yahoo will give you up quicker than you can say freedom of information. That being said, I don't see our government [at this time] doing anything to directly restrict podcasting. I mean, not anymore than is currently being done with copyright laws, etc.

I think maybe they will try and not be able to pull it off. Wasting tons of tax payers bucks in thte attempt to do something about it. So mommy... who's kid saw boobies on some vidcast can have piece of mind that the gov. is trying but completely bombing

Anytime an industry starts making big bucks, government try jump into regulate. There is big money in fines for regulation. Look at the FCC... But remember the "making big bucks" aspect... I think pod-casting in this country has a way to go before we have to fear the big monster in the room.

I worry more about "freedom of search" on the internet for sites like www.smidgits.com.

There is no way it can be regulated....as world-wide as the net is.....possibly voluntary guidelines or something like that....or a site may refuse to promote a cast based on content, but it cannot be censored like regular radio. I dont see how any regulations could stick as long as we have the technology to do it, and if someone did...we would get around it.

Hi collegeinvestor,

Well,We think of podcasting as a means of conveying audio presentations. It is also used for presenting video. The applications for podcasting are continually being refined and the growth of future applications continue to evolve as well.A podcast in the future may be used by educational facilities to provide a full media presentation to students that allow interaction with technology and printed media. In essence podcasting could allow a student to use media as a learning tool. It might also allow students to either provide self diagnosis on their grasp of the material or it might even allow them to take a test via the podcast linked to testing software.

Thanks

A growing number of schools already provide students with laptops for school purposes and it is highly likely this trend will grow.
