I have set up a studio with a Mackie Onynx 1220 with a Firewire connectivity card feeding into a G5 iMAC. My mics (2 Shure SM7B's) are always on and will be recorded even when the faders are all down and the power is turned off on the mixer. I am running a lot of gain on those two mics. When I tried to play my theme song from iTunes to record into Audacity, I picked up my mics which were turned off. Help!

Make sure your not solo'ing the channels with the mics, and that you dont have a master AFL/PFL in the PFL setting.

Try dropping an email to Mackie, they answered mine in a day.

Hi,

The Mackie Onyx Firewire support is pre-fade. For podcasting this may not make sense but read the manual and it will explain the other applications. If you do find a way let me know.
