Ok, Jacuzzi likes the concept of sponsoring my new 'cast, "BathTalk Weekly." I sent them complete information about per episode pricing and the spots we'd run and such. Now they want to know pricing for running banner ads at Podcast Alley and iTunes and the other podsites. I've written to Podcast Alley many times to get pricing but they never write back. Should I be getting involved in this or should I just have their ad agency contact these places and stay out of it? So far all of our dealings with them have been through their ad agency but I don't think they have ever considered advertising on a podcast before. For everything there is a first.
Any advice you have for me would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

First, congrats on the potential sponsor!

Unless you want to be an ad broker (and who knows, you might), I would say you should point them to the sites they're interested in, and let them handle the rest. If they're an established agency, they should be able figure it out from there.

Why not point them to a site like Podtrac or Radiotail or Kiptronic? They may be able to broker a deal across many podcasts with the demographics and reach that advertising on a single podcast simply can't bring.

Hey Kidder,
Congrats! That's super.
This article is old (Nov. 2005) but maybe useful

Sounds to me like they want this info for comparison, not necessarily for you to broker deals with the other companies.
It's probably a good bit of information to gather. So you know you're being competitive. Though I don't know that iTunes or the Alley (Podshow) will want to share their rates with you as a potential competitor. They'd probably prefer you join under their service/network and get your ads sold through them.
