It seems that everyone is reporting the government is failing when it comes to cyber and homeland security. The truth is that 85% of the critical infrastructure in the US is controlled by private industry! The Security Catalyst posted a surprisingly candid interview with Special Agent Jim Beane of the FBI about what is being done.
Special Agent Beane was with the National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC), and has many interesting things to say about the effects of 9/11 on National cybersecurity, and what changed as a result of the terrorist attacks on America. It also includes a discussion of what Infragard is, what it's about, and the benefits of joining your local infragard chapter.
