Behind the Scenes #26 has been posted at http://www.btscast.com and reviews a $30 noise-cancelling cellphone headset that you can easily convert to plug into an iRiver or other recording device. How does it sound? Listen to the show...it was recorded with the headset. Hint: If you want to record in the car or anywhere there's a lot of background noise, you should definitely consider this as an option, especially if you want to be discrete!

Also reviewed: the latest iTrip from Griffin Technology and the radio SHARK...the antithesis to podcasting but just as cool.

Craig,
I wonder if my headset I have would do the trick too. I have 3 of those lying around. And I have a soldering iron, lol
I should convert one and find out.

Thanks for the tip.

In theory any headset should work with the proper adapter, although in some cases you may need to add some additional power (either through a portable preamp or a battery box depending on the mic).
