GoDaddy.com
Best place to register your domain name in my opinion.

Since I'm brand-Spankin' new to this gig, what is the best option to register domain, build & host website, host & distribute my pod casts from...we're thinking we will release one 30 min show a week (I'm guessing 60-70MB per show)...am I way out in left field with my expectations?

I would suggest dreamhost.com, they can help you out with everything you need to get started and they offer some great hosting plans with the bandwidth you need. The thing to remember is that each person who downloads the podcast will use those 70ish mb.

I would also recommend Dreamhost. Really good value for money and they have some excellent offers which allow you to sign up for a year for just $9.95.

Diva,
I use 1&1 Webhosting. You can get hosting for a few bucks a months and they will throw in a domain as well. There are lot of features for podcasters too.
Edit: I didn't see the OP was 4 years old. I'm sure she's set up by now.

The truth is, there are tons of hosting providers that are cheap and have excellent service. The only issues you will learn over time is how their support is and server uptime. I use wirenine, they have been great to me thus far.

Of course, a lot of them have UNhappy customers out there, which is why this is a good forum to check before you pick one.

Regarding hosting reviews you must be aware that bad reviews aren't given only to bad companies. Every company, no matter whether it's hosting or something else have few negative customers.

My vote is for HostGator. In the past, I've used a cheap hosts (which subsequently went out of business and I lost all of my data), and non-responsive hosts (who, after telling them the server is down, would get back to you a week later and say 'It looks up'.. yeah.. by the time they looked at it someone had gotten it back up). HostGator for me has been reliable and responsive.

That happened to me once, several years back, and I've always kept backups since. The worst that can happen is you may lode a few days worth of data.

It is important to stumble on a good review site. Although you can find a wealth of options when it comes to this, you need to be aware, too, that not all review sites can offer you the right information. Some sites are being paid by the web hosts themselves, so most likely you will find the reviews to be all positive.
