We're proud to announce the the Corey and Joel Radio Show is now proudly sponsored by Chicken Ranch Records, an independent record label out of Austin, Texas. Chicken Ranch will now provide music for the show, and swag for our listeners, in exchange for mentions and prominent spot on our website.
The deal came about as CRR head honcho Mike emailed us months ago and said he was a fan. He sent us some CDs and we liked them. The negotiations took off from there. It was easy.
We're really, really happy to finally gete some cash for something we love. While it's not a ton of money, we're covering our costs and putting the rest into promotion, equipment, etc. We've been at this for a year (almost) and we feel this is a huge step forward in our careers, whether it be in podcasting, radio or whatever.
Any congrats would be appreciated.

It's great to hear when podcasts get sponsorships...especially if it's cash.
Congrats!

You get cash to build your podcast, the record label gets exposure, the listeners get cool music. Sounds like a win/win/win. I love hearing news like this. >8->

Fantastic! I think a lot of music (and other) podcasters can cite your situation to potential sponsors who may be wanting to know that it's a workable arangement.
Good luck!

To me this is an ideal way to handle the whole notion of "podsafe" music, which I still think is utter crap. If musicians and record labels are seriously looking for creative marketing solutions, this could be one answer. It also helps to find a cool partner like Chicken Ranch.

I'm still pretty new at the game, so...I don't understand. What do you mean? I kinda thought the PMN (and other outfits) was an easy way to find music I won't get sued for playing...

I'm saying that building relationships with cool artist's and or labels is a way bring new music to your audience, and the audience to the artist that might be outside the Podsafe network. Pretty simple really.

Roger that—doing it already. Just didn't know if you had any specific reasons to dislike PMN.
I've actually been getting a number of requests from bands just in the last couple of weeks to give their music some play. And this is weird because I'm not really doing anything to promote my show just yet. Freaks me right the hell out, man. I thought I was just howling into the vacuum of space.

Hey Nacho, shut up and stop posting nonsense. Come back when you get some pubes and a sense of humor.
