Ok, so I have no idea how to setup WordPress (1.5.2) to make the RSS feed for my podcast. So, I guess I need a set by step guide.

Well, for that, you'll need webhosting. If you are a beginner, I suggest saving yourself alot of headaches, and head over to Libsyn (http://www.libsyn.com). The will provide you with an RSS feed, unlimited bandwidth, and 100MB a month (increases by that amount each month) of storage.
In addition to all of this, they have an awesome tracking system that will give you stats on how many people are listening and what the are using (ie: iTunes).

And then I actually go to your website and I notice that you are indeed NOT a beginner and have a wordpress feed AND feedburner feed already set up... I'm a little confused.

Right now the RSS isn't generated by WordPress, which I would like to do. I make the RSS file off line, then upload it later. So what I want to do, is just have WordPress make the RSS file. So I'm using FeedForAll to make the RSS file, but if I can get WordPress to do it.

It does it automatically. Look at the bottom of your own page:
"BareFT Podcast is proudly powered by WordPress
http://bareftpodcast.com/?feed=rss2]Entries (feed: and http://bareftpodcast.com/?feed=comments-rss2]Comments (feed:[url) (RSS)."

And I've been doing it the hard way :(

Just and FYI, but in WordPress 1.5 and 2.0, if you include a full URL to the mp3 file it will automatically make those files enclosures.
It does, and it's very cool -- but it helps to be aware that it doesn't work 100% of the time. At least it doesn't in Wordpress 1.5. LibSyn links tend to confuse it, because it can't follow the redirects properly to get the file's length. Likewise with the Podtrac download tracker. If you're just linking to files on your own space and not doing anything strange, it's fully reliable, however.
(This never especially bothered me, BTW. It's just one more reason I use Feedburner.)

after i edited the files with the feed, my wordpress stopped automatically including the enclosure when i link it in the title. dont see anything to the files i could have done, and even if i did, don't see how it could have affected it...
not that it matters, just takes me an extra few seconds to add the enclosure

I spent a day trying to understand wordpress. It made no sense to me at all and it's documentation was all over the place.
Terrible - but it could just be me.

I just started with WordPress 2.0 and love it. I haven't tried yet (at least not thoroughly), but the WordPress Plugin WP-iPodCatter (http://garrickvanburen.com/wpipodcatter/) supposedly creates valid feeds for the iTunes podcast directory.
What I don't really understand why the regular WP-generated RSS feed doesn't point to:
/.../wp-rss2.php but instead to:
feed:http://www.thedial.net/html/modules/wordpress/?feed=rss2
which works perfectly well for Safari's RSS reader, but iTunes doesn't understand it when I try to point iTunes to that address. I've tried a number of variations on the URL to no avail.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I don't know where you got that URL (autodiscovery?), but I just tried http://www.thedial.net/html/modules/wordpress/wp-rss2.php and it was valid. Didn't have any articles in it, but it was a feed.
So if that's the feed URL you want, just put it in your page template that way. Or use mod_rewrite or a redirect and name your feed whatever you like.

its because the /feed file is basically a file that by default redirects to /wp-rss2 but with a prompt (?feed=TYPE) it goes to whichever type u chose
rss
rss2
atom
one more, i forget.

I get that URL when I right-click (Well, Control-click, actually, since I'm on a Mac) on the RSS link on my WordPress page.
But I didn't know that I could alter the template to specify that...I thought...hmm...I don't know what I thought, but I'll give it a whirl.
Thanks! And thank you, too, Nacho!
