IM A PODCAST VIRGIN, AND THUS NEW TO THIS BOARD. I'M AN ACTOR BASED IN THE UK AND INCRESINGLY INTRIGUED BY THE PROSPECT OF PODCASTING DRAMA. I'M HERE HOPING TO FIND PROJECTS TO WORK ON OR ACTORS AND DIRECTORS WHO ARE SIMILARLY KEEN. I CAME TO THE BUSINESS LATE IN LIFE AFTER A CAREER IN INDUSTRY. I HAVE A GOOD DEGREE AND PG DIP AND A PRETTY IMPRESSIVE CV TO SHOW FOR MY 6 YEARS AS A PRO ACTOR.
WHO WANTS TO POINT ME TO PEOPLE OR POINT PEOPLE TO ME. I'MFAIRLY KEEN TO SEE IF ANYONE IS KEEN TO PODCAST SHAKESPEARE AS THE AWFUL PUN IN THE TITLE SUGGESTS

Well, Brumbear--
The first thing I'd suggest is that you stop THE EQUIVALENT OF ONLINE "SHOUTING" BY TYPING IN ALL CAPS!
Secondly, I love the idea of a bardcast. Some unsolicited ideas:
1) Pick out some of your favorite monologues and record them (be sure to check out the link to "Podcast Sofware" at the top menu of this site if you are looking for tools to get the deed done), and release a couple of episodes with these monologues to attract attention.
2)Using Skype, get a cast together from all over the world to perform via the conference call function. Record it with something like Audio Hijack et voila! Richard III, on demand!
3)Find a local Shakespeare group that uses boom (or is it drop?) mics and see if you can record directly from the board.

thanks for the hints.
i knew i was shouting, but i was being very lazy.
especially like the idea of using skype i'll look into it.
local shakespeare groups.....scary i don't work with am drammers. i'm looking for professional quality all round. not just bill shakespeare though. there must be a market to develop for quality drama on line.
many thanks for your valued encouragement

Could you re-visit and possibly re-write old radio dramas?
Some of those old time dramas still hold up today.

Great minds etc: Great idea the beauty ofcourse is that with podcasts, there is a huge opportunity to really democratise the venture. It needn't and most likely wouldn't be star driven. There is also the fun of working online with actors and professionals from around the world that's got me revved up.
Thanks to all who've responded to this thread I hope that more do, especially any one who is interested in collaborating with me.
I've downloaded skype I've not set it up yet but I'll add the details tomorrow.
Cheers
Jon
