I had to share this. My show has never been featured on anything (iTunes, Yahoo, etc) and since my numbers are small I have never reached any kind of Top 100 list.
I was just checking out the referrers to my podcast website and for the first time I had some coming from yahoo podcasts. Had a look nope not featured there. Then I found it....I am currently at #21 on Yahoo's Highly Rated podcasts. I know it is still in Beta and everything but it is certainly bringing new people to my show.
Yippee!

Congrats! My podcast is too new to be anything other than "new" on podcast sites.

Cool! Good for you.
i found out about your show from Rob's Podcast411 interview, I'm sure that's an interview that still keeps giving. Keep up the good work.

Definately, doing 411 was a good move! I still get referrals from there all the time.

I get a good few hits from yahoo and google from people searching for my site. As in they actully type in "Spainful Films". I don't understand this because everywhere I'm listed has a direct link to the site. Where are thery hearing about me!?
I don't think i've had a single from hti yahoo podcasts but I have had quite a few from podcast.net

Does anyone here find it odd that mugglecast is lucky enough to be in the top podcasts two times at Yahoo? When I looked today they were ranked both 2nd and 12th.
It is definitly dark dark magic or mabey just a little fluke powder

We talked about it here not too long ago: http://www.podcastpickle.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=4893
In terms of handling certain feeds, Yahoo is just not wired right - or not particularly well supported and maintained.

Probably from their friends. If someone mentions your podcast in conversation, or in an e-mail or IM or something, it's a lot easier to Google you than to look you up in a podcast directory. (And many casual listeners don't even know that podcast directory sites exist.)
This happens quite a bit. I get several hits a day from people keying on "escape pod podcast," so they can't possibly be searching for anything else.

The same for me. I have found people keying in "dismay podcast" or titles of an episode. So, it would seem that word-of-mouth is a great thing.
