Half the time it has nothing to do with the underlying purpose. For me half of the reason of starting my podcast was because it was a blast to program the blog script, and I used a large number of new techniques in PHP.

Most of the work i scratched and redid, but now I've got some very nice scripts that make it very easy for me to update my show. The key thing is I am not reliable on a site builders script to work right, just mine. And if something isn't working, it's my fault, and I can fix it myself.


But I don't think this was hand coded. If your going to do a directory you need to be using PHP.

I do agree alley needs to be redesigned. Now too difficult to collect the podcast you like
