My show now has an average audience of 653 listeners per show according to my Libsyn stats. Does anyone know how I can make any money with my show? and if so, how? There's no way I'm going to charge my listeners to download the show so its all about advertising really.

Talk to local theater chain managers and movie rental store owners and see if they want to put a few spots in consecutive episodes.

Tell them you'll give them a discount if they will put a poster or banner about your show in their business location.

See if you can talk to their national advertising manager so you can make it a national deal. (Think big, right?)

You could also 'prime the pump'...

Give away one ad to a local business you like. This will make other potential advertisers think that your services are valuable. It sounds much better for me to hear an ad, followed by a call for more sponsors than to hear YET ANOTHER podcaster looking to monetize.

Fake it 'til you make it.

One of three things will happen.

One, the business you gave freebies to will see the value and want to start paying you. The free trial offer idea.

Two, another company will think, "well if X is doing it, it must be worth something." (note, be sure to get letters of recommendation from X)

Three, no one bites on this idea and your listeners think you are cool enough to have a sponsor.

As long as the adverts aren't annoying, I think everybody wins.
