Hey all, I'm new here, nice to meet ya.

I direct the podcast over at www.4colorrebellion.com and since day 1 we have been having this problem: On people's ipods the display time of our podcast will reach the end (prematurely) but the podcast will continue to play until the audio ends. Other times, the podcast will totally cut off prematurely - audio and all! There is no rhyme or reason to it...

I figure the problem has something to do with either the RSS code or the encoding... I encode at 32kbps - 22,050khz. I use protools to build the podcast and SoundForge to compress and save as an mp3.

I would greatly appreciate any help and suggestions.

thanks

:D

well a) i suggest using 44.1 khz thing rather than that funky number, ull encounter less problems

but the problem is most likely in the feed. you probably write a too-short amount of time for itunes:duration tag and it therefore displays the time as shorter than it actually is

The sample rate should have nothing to do with it cutting out. I know that sometimes itunes will not download the entire file and the podcast will be cut off some. The duration tag for itunes may be the problem but I doubt it.
