Well the promo change in iTunes results in only intro music at the subscription display. Im considering responding with the promo at the top of the list to any apple.com domain, that would put the promo at the top of the list only for the cached directory listing. (as far as I can tell the iTunes application reads the feeds directly, and only the subscription uses a cached version of the feed.)

Sure wish the iTunes team would publish some release notes for us out here. Perhaps there is some sort of caveat for the promo that has not quite made it out of the development team.

Another thing, why does everyones podcast list a very few number of seconds in the directoty listing under the "time" colum?

Humm....

I also note that when you try to do a search under podcasts with either the title or the author, very, very few shows actually appear. Mine certainly doesn't. The only way a listener is likely to find it is by going into browse podcasts and clicking on the category under politics, then scrolling through until they find the right one...

Does everyone else experience this lack of searching ability in iTunes the 'norm'?

type in "kinky sex" and there are four. I'm one.

Type in "kinky sex radio" and it's just me. So, it works great for me.

Just my two cents...

What did I miss?

Has there been a change in the way iTunes reads an RSS file?

We've got our promo listed as the oldest enclosure.

TIA,

John

I have had some troubles with iTunes recently, and just today my podcast disappeared from any type of search on the iTunes Music Store. It keeps going on and off. Basically the only way I can see that helps to get it back on the directory and search is to report an error with the podcast to apple, hopefully they'll get mine back up again, but I really couldn't see it being a problem with the feed, seeing that I haven't changed mine except for adding new items.

I have two podcasts, one audio and one video. The audio one has been up for a couple months, and I've never had a problem with it on iTunes, until today I noticed it's gone from any search, just like yours Andy. The video podcast has been on and off for searching, but it seems to be becoming more stable. I agree with you, alexkillby, I don't think it's an issue with the feed itself. I just think iTunes is having a bit of trouble at the moment. Hopefully it won't last long, though.

I did notice one other weird thing. When I search for "geekbrief", it shows up, but only with a relevance of 3 bars. The name of the podcast is "GeekBrief.com (Video)". Why wouldn't the relevance be higher? Not that it's a huge deal, certainly not being listed in a search at all is much more important, but I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed this as well.

I can't get your feed at all. FYI.

The feed is fixed now, sorry about that. Thanks for letting me know!
