RSS feed help

Ok, I've got my podcast. I've recorded it, edited it, it's all ready to be distributed. The only problem is that I need an RSS feed. I've never messed with RSS before so can someone explain how to do it or point me to a site?

I presume you've uploaded the mp3 to a blog.

Go to Feedburner (www.feedburner.com) and register your feed (with the address of your blog) and you should be good to go.

The feeds are normally http://feeds.feedburner.com/yourpodcastsname

Are you using a blog like WordPress? If so it creates an RSS feed (and will automatically update your site).

You didn't tell how you plan to serve up the files, which would have helped in providing an answer. Like has been said before, many hosting options will generate an XML feed file for you. Most blogs will and a podcasting service like LibSyn will automatically generate and host the feed file.

If you have a place to serve the files from, like a web hosting plan, you can write your own feed file to point to them. You can take the easy route and buy a feed authoring program such as FeedForAll. It simplifies the process drastically.
