Ourmedia.org

I use ourmedia.org, they are free provided you release under CC or into the public domain. Which is not unduly burdensome for a podcast really. You want people to copy it and pass it around their friends.

The only problem is there crappy upload client which I can't get to work, and the http upload pages is limited to around 10MB before it times out (I've gotten 12 through on a fast connection).

I was able to get the our media publish thing to work. But had trouble having the rss file validated through a 3rd party site. It's been two weeks and I still haven't gotten my first podcast out. I'm now going to redo with switchpod, unless anyone can suggest otherwise.

I used ourmedia.org with Blogger and feedburner and didn't have problems.

Nevermind, don't use it. It seems like a great server, but they don't support xml files, i just realized this.

That blows. Well Maybe when I do my great website migration then. Might I suggest http://www.podomatic.com/. My friend just started his own podcast and they are 250 mb for free. I'm at http://www.switchpod.com/ and it's only 100mb and then you have to pay, and there support SUCKS !

This isn't pretty, but it should work:

- Host your show files at: http://www.yourfreespace.net/
- Get a free account on Blogger.com
- Reference the mp3 files in your posts that you have stored on yourfreespace.net
- Activate the site feed and burn it through Feedburner (that will give you some stats and if you ever upgrade hosts, you won't need to change the feed URL)
- Give out the clean Feedburner RSS feed as your subscription link

The initial set-up may be cumbersome, but the later posting and blogging should be pretty easy. And it's all free. Just tried it out and it works.
