Stopped by PODZINGER and did a little search for "digital video" and The DV Show popped up. Not only did it find the word but it found out where it was used in the actual podcast --it was almost like I was looking at the entire script for the show!

Podzinger took The DV Show podcast and turned it into text and it even had the segment start times that you can click and listen to that segment alone.

here is an example of the search results:

Not the best speech to text representation but I'm sure many of you could find this useful: http://www.podzinger.com

Are these services expensive? I did a little research and didnt think it was worth it?You know what you have when you get a podcast transcribed? You have a BLOG, which you can do for free.

I don't get it. The whole concept of a podcast is that you SAY the words. Why on earth would you want to say the words and then pay to have them turned into text? Just write a blog and cut out the middle man.
You could save a bundle on audio equipment too.

Many podcasts are good, specifically because you can hear the humor, the inflection, the emotion and the sound FX and music, which serves to enhance the show.

That is not true, if some people are unable to access audio, you are limiting your fans and audience. More accessible equals more listeners.

That is not true, if some people are unable to access audio, you are limiting your fans and audience.I get your point, but I still see that as a blog, and a separate medium which says to me it's twice the work for the same content. More accessible equals more listeners. That's the point. If they can't get audio (and I don't know of anyone who doesn't have speakers on their computers) then you won't get more listeners. You'll get readers, perhaps, but then you'd have to create a whole new revenue scheme to get anything out of it.

I suppose they could download the files unheard and then burn them to CD , but it still seems like a lot of work for little return.

I wonder if there are any stats to this technique.
