What do you find causes spikes in show stats. Every so often I will see a spike on a specific day through all of the episodes of my podcast. I have been able to track some of the spikes to times when my show is promoted either on another podcast or website. Most of the time I have no idea what causes this. I'm just trying to figure out if it's a glitch, a bot (something like that), listeners just going back through the past 15 or so episodes, or something else.

One last thing, the 'odd' spikes are usually not tied to me releasing a new episode. That I can understand, someone discovers the show then goes back to listen to the other shows.

Thanks.

The reason why I ask is that it's just not a few more downloads. It could be a spike of 30 or more which I just find kind on odd when I see it across all of my episodes.

Heck, I'm not complaining, if that many more people are finding the show, great!

I know I was a featured podcast on the front page of pdocast pickle, and that seemed to cause a small spike.

We notice a spike on Wednesdays...
I can only assume it is the day of the week
when people are unusually bored?
