Those of you who are members of, or have an interest in, the Sci-Fi Podcast Network might wish to take a look at the recent changes to their Web site:

http://www.tsfpn.com

If you have opinions -- positive or negative -- on the redesign, I strongly encourage you to send an e-mail to admin@podcastentertainmentnetwork.com and tell them what you think. And if you have a podcast that's listed on TSFPN, please ask your listeners to do the same.

I have no business stake in TSFPN or its new parent; I'm simply a member who wants them to receive as much feedback as possible, in the interests of building a better community. And, well, it's my opinion that right now they *really* need the feedback.

That's all I have to say for now. Thanks.

Gosh that's an ugly site. A big turn off (and I subscribe to two of the TSFPN's shows).

Really wish they used scifipodcasts.com rather than tsfpn.com too.

Given I just submited my show for consideration, I am not sure I should offer feedback at this point.

Although I don't really like the new layout at all. TSFPN going directly to the TSFPN page was a good was to have it.

Please consider dropping a message to admin@podcastentertainmentnetwork.com with your opinion. I'm not sure the TSFPN staff know what people are thinking about the new site revisions, but I believe it's something they should be aware of. Your comments could help improve the directory, and with it the success of the shows you're subscribed to. Thanks very much.

I've just shot off a message to the admin

Dear admin,

Ouch! What a shocker! The luminous green background you have chosen for your web site really strains the eyes and completely overpowers the content.

The site's mandate states :
"The Podcast Entertainment Network (PEN) is a family of podcast channels promoting the very best podcast programming available. Every show we promote has been screened for quality and content."
It seems a pity that such altruistic sentiments are not reflected in the site's design - it looks inept and unprofessional, is completely user-unfriendly and inspires no confidence in PEN's abilities to screen anything for "quality and content".

In my opinion, your site design devalues the quality of the content and undermines the credibility of PEN.

Sincerely,

It seems such a pity - there is no shortage of talented, underworked, web designers out there who would jump at the opportunity to add a potential high profile client to their portfolio.

I guess it boils down to personalities. There are people out there who are astute enough to know their own limitations and know precisely when to delegate. In my experience, these are the people who succeed.

My 2¢.

Graeme

PS. Big fan of your podcasts, Stephen. Keep up the good work!
