Hi,
I have 3 feeds in iTunes yet one shows that the image link is broken. I don't understand - I cut and past the same xml image tags into all 3 feeds and the images in the other 2 feeds show up fine. What gives?
The offending feed is:

Any help would be much apreciated.

Are the three feeds all in the same category? It's possible that iTunes is refreshing different categories at different frequencies. In which case you'll just have to wait....

Yes, they are all in the same category so I guess the feeds would be refreshed at the same time - they are 3 different versions of the same show - audio, iPod video, and larger video.
Maybe I'll try altering the .xml code and take out the image altogether - anything is prefereable to the dreaded "broken link" pic!
Thanks

We were getting the broken link image for about a week after we updated our original image with a new one.
It was finally fixed after I emailed Apple. I went to my show page / report a concern / this show is not able to be downloaded.
They don't have a topic for broken images.
You might want to try that.

Thanks for the tip John!
When I first created the RSS feed I used an app which not only generated iTunes specific tags for the feed, but also general RSS feed tags. In fact I had 2 tags for images - one general RSS and another specifically for iTunes. This seemed to work fine in 2 of my 3 feeds, but in the third one iTunes didn't like it.
I couldn't figure out what was wrong - they were all identical. So I just deleted the whole <itunes:image> tag and left only the general RSS image tag in the offending .xml file. I figured I'd just wait until iTunes displayed the default "purple i" image then try altering the xml code again.
I didn't have to wait too long for a result. iTunes correctly displayed my feed's image without the iTunes specific <image> tag. It seems as long as there is a general RSS compliant image tag, iTunes will recognise it by default if given no other choice.
I'm not sure whether this solves a mystery or creates another! :? In any case, my feed now seems to be fixed.
Thanks,
Graeme

What app do you have that generates the iTunes tags?

A little app called RSS Buddy. It's available in both Mac and Windows versions.

They offer a demo version so you can try it out for yourself to see whether it suits your needs.
Hope this helps,
Graeme
PS. I have no affiliation with the makers of this app ..... but if they'd like to offer me a free copy :D
