Yeah, im really new to the PodCasting scene and so I need alot of help with all of this :(

I apologise now that this is a serious newbie post and I may annoy many of you.

My first question is; how do I upload my mp3 file in which I did my pod and make it into a suitable file for this website? I have a couple of pod making programmes (Ie: PodProducer) and so I can make it, I just don't know how to upload it anywhere.

My second question; I've looked at the uploading/adding section on this site and it says "Podcast Feed Link (RSS, XML, PHP)" is that the link in which the podcast is uploaded?

Again, I sincerely apologise, but I've looked around at many tutorials and other peoples posts but I'm still clueless.

You have to have a place to host your podcast and upload it to their server after you subscribe.

http://www.audioblog.com is one example and there are tons more.

Once you have an account, go to the audio section and click "upload". It will bring up a browser window to search your hard drive and find your file. Select it and click "upload". That's pretty much how they all work, right?

do you have any kind of site?
if you plan on sticking to your podcast, i suggest buying a domain

and from siteground. http://www.siteground.com go to their site for full info, but basics:

12 GB storage (plenty for at least a year)

500 GB bandwidth (plenty for even a very large audience, i think)

and it's never down

podcastmayhem - It looks like all of Podcast Mayhem's articles are copied from Podcasting News (http://www.podcastingnews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=4898#4898), without their permission.

Why are you trying to pass somebody else's work off as your own?

Yikes!

Plagiarism is not a good way to start off your directory!

you can also use switchpod (http://www.switchpod.com)

free for starters, and if ya like it, ya can upgrade to larger storage bases
it generates your feed for ya, and the paid subscriptions generate your site too

Looks like somebody's spamming for podcast mayhem, too.

There are hundreds of sites hit with podcast mayhem comment spam (http://www.google.com/search?num=50&hl=en&lr=&q=%22podcastmayhem.com+podcasting+podcasting%22&btnG=Search) (the site name followed by "podcasts podcasts")

Hi everyone:

As is hijacking threads, which is what all of you complaining about PodcastMayhem's alleged plagurism are doing.

Not that I'm defending what Gary is allegedly doing (cause I don't) but....

Cheers :D

Actually, podcastmayhem did use articles without giving proper credit. The comments about it were relavent because he was using someone else's work to steer the original poster to his site. Podcastmayhem was justifiably called on it. The response was appropriate for the action. Elle was the one that was plagiarised and was (for good reason) quite upset.

In fairness to podcastmayhem, the plagiarism was apparently not malicious -- let's call it excessive enthusiasm.

Just a little friendly advice: You might want to keep an eye on the board a bit longer before you jump on people for hijacking threads. Every board has a personality, and PCA is no exception. If you consider this a "hijacking" and it bugs you, you're not going to like it around here. It gets a lot wilder around here than this! And I honestly don't mean that to sound obnoxious. Just trying to save you a popped capillary or two :)

Be seeing you!
