The fact that curry and podshow are going to allow anything goes on ipodder seems like trying to have it both ways. PCA is podshow and whatever they do at ipodder reflects on PCA.

There is absolutely no reason they can't have a policy against these kinds of podcasts at ipodder. They may not maintain the nodes, but they can set the rules for being part of their directory.

Everyone should pull their website links to ipodder to show how much they dislike their don't want to deal with it policy.

goodbye PCA - goodbye ipodder

I'm going to the pickle and digital podcast.

I think they will eventually do the right thing and at just 1 post, I am guessing that PCA is not worried about losing your participation.

I disagree with both podcasts in question, but believe in their right to talk about whatever they like no matter how disgusting or distasteful.

The reason I think they will disappear from directories is that these directories are businesses and as such have the right to refuse service to anyone. They have advertisers and investors and for that reason, the podcasts will be removed.

If you believe a podcast, website, or whatever is promoting breaking the law (like the pedo-creeps), then report it to the proper authorities (ie, take some personal responsibility).

Otherwise (if not promoting breaking dah law), I think it falls under freedom of speech.

Ha.

yeah, the node managers aren't often very good. I have submitted a couple of my shows many times and never been listed. It was easier to get into iTunes - haha

that is the downside of distributed labor...

Free speech AND the right to dump anyone you want from your website any time you want!

That would be Free Speech and Property Rights. The latter is in serious trouble, on all levels.

Wow... are you saying that the right to own property is wrong? If so, I am interested in your reasoning. Feel free to PM me if you think this is not the right place for the discussion.

Oh hell no! Property rights is one of the most basic and important of all human rights. Without property rights, most other rights become meaningless in the long run.

It includes the right to do whatever you want with your own, private podcast directory.

It used to include a lot of other rights, like the right to let people smoke in your bar, or the right to own your own land and buildings, but doesn’t any more. That’s what I mean by it being in serious trouble.

Whew... I thought you were on a total different plane than I remembered.

Thanks for clearing that up and I do agree with you totally about property rights. I thought you said "IS" serious trouble - not "is IN" serious trouble. :)

I thought I was gonna have to try to reason with a crazy person for a minute there - haha.
