Hi

How do I track the number of people downloading or listening to a podcast?
Can I break down the audience by geography/country?
Is it possible to track how many people are listening to part of the file versus the whole thing?

(And is this the right forum to pose these questions?)

Thanks.

cheers!

If your hosting company offers reports this should already be in the report. If not you'll need to find a log parser to run the reports for you. If you search Google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&c2coff=1&safe=off&client=safari&rls=en&q=free+log+analyzer&spell=1) you'll find some; some for free even.

The only real way to know if people are actually listening to your show would be to sample them... however if you have a large show and perhaps can tell that the number of hits you have versus the amount of bandwidth you're show sucks down is uneven you could assume that people are streaming from your web site and shoving off after they have downloaded 1/2 or 1/3, etc.
