After my recent post about itunes messing up my first (default) show, I went and produced a new "show number 0" and inserted it in the beginning of my rss feed to reach those listeners browsing podcasts.

However, as soon as itunes picked up that change (took a few hours) ... my show disappeared from search!!!

It's still in the browse category, but it's not searchable by author, title, or any descriptive keywords.

Do you think my changing the default show caused this???

I'd done the exact same thing and my podcast did disappear from the itunes listing for a few hours but came back the following day. I recommend that you keep trying to search for it every 2 to 3 hours. If it doesn't show up in a few days, try submitting the feed again.

it happened to me about an hour ago. It seems as if they cycle through and do a full update every day or so, and then a light post update every hour or so......

at least that's what it seems like.

i loose my keywords every couple of days, but get them back about an hour or two after i notice....

Yeah, a couple hours later it all reappeared. I think the answer is, iTunes isn't ready for prime time yet, which is awkward for all of us, because it's 1953, 8:02 PM, and the television only *gets* three channels.

It's pretty amazing to me how much crappy technology podcasters and podcast listeners have to deal with.
