I'm a big fan of Odeo, I like the tagging and metadata they have for all the shows, and the syncr works really well for what I need.
Until recently, the Create tab was just a tease saying they were going to have create options soon. Well, they've opened up some alpha testing to people that asked for it, and I wanted to give my first impressions.
They have 3 options for creating content:
1. Use Odeo Studio - Use the Odeo Studio to create a new Show right in your browser.
2. Make a Phone Post - Use the telephone to record and post a new Show
3. Upload existing audio - Upload MP3s from your hard drive to one of your Channels
The Odeo Studio is a Flash app that uses your computer microphone to record clips, but you can also import existing clips from your computer. I haven't used it, since we don't record near a computer, but it looks promising.
The phone posting allows you to call a number and have it posted to a channel you specify. You setup what number you will be calling from and what the PIN should be to identify yourself. I think everyone calls the same number (at least for now).
The Upload option is what I used, since we already had our next show completed. The upload went quickly, and they used a flash status bar to show the progress. Then it asked for the Description/Title/etc. of the show, and posted it immediately.
If anyone's interested, I can post a screenshot of the Studio window.
