The Communications Program of Monash University (Melbourne, Australia) is inviting the producers of podcasts and videoblogs to participate in a short survey, the first wide-scale survey focusing on the production side of this new media.

The survey can be found at: http://peterchen.members.grokthis.net/research and will take about 5 to 10 minutes to complete. Participation is entirely voluntary, and participants do not need to provide any personal or identifying information to successfully complete the survey.

Results of the survey, in a de-identified (private) form, will be released following the completion of the project, in about six months time. The objectives of the research are to:
• Examine the range of podcasts and videobloggs currently being produced
• Identify the types of people involved in the productions
• Examine the effort and work put into developing this content
• Look at how the shows are promoted and developed
• Explore interactivity issues
• Look at medium to long-term business models and cost-recovery issues

If you want further information you can:
• Email the researcher, Dr Peter Chen, at Peter.Chen@arts.monash.edu.au
• Look at the Monash University website: http://www.arts.monash.edu.au/ncas/

If you wish to pass this request to a friend or colleague involved in podcasting or videoblogging, please do not do so later than 21st October 2005.
