This isn't rocket science I'm sure but I'm wondering what some of you are using to record voice comments from listeners. For instance, the 1-800 numbers that many podcasters have set up that allow people to call in and record a comment that has the possibility of being played during one of the shows. Is there a good service out there that many of you use? Would love to hear if there is...
Thanks!

k7.net. Not an 800 number, but it's free.
I think efax does a voicemail suystem as well, but you'll have to pay for the toll-free number AND the voicemail service.

Skype offers a phone-in service, which can be recorded on your computer easily. I believe you can opt for a toll-free number.

ya I use a Skype account with SkypeIn and Voicemail. Just play the voicemail and then record what is coming out of your computer. Skype is nice because you can choose what area code you have. So, if your audience is mostly in the 736 area code, you probably can get a 736 number so it isn't long distance for the listeners. With k7.net it is all 206 or seattle numbers.

If you can't bear a Seattle number (I am with CC Chapman in thinking people can use cellphone minutes as far as US listeners go) try www.evoice.com as a skype alternative.

with a $24.95 gizmo from radio shack you can record calls from cell phones and land lines phones with ease. Just patch it into a mixer then into the pc and run audacity and your home free.
