View Full Version : Craig stepping down as PCA moderator

Over the past months I've volunteered my time as moderator for the PCA forums to help keep the discussions focused, on track, and within the community guidelines. I really appreciate Chris putting his trust in me and I've done my best to be as fair as possible in the job (although I know there are those of you who disagree!).

However, I have overcommited my time to various projects recently and find myself falling further behind on the things that are (or should be) my highest priorities, including my full-time job, my health, and my own podcasts. As a result I've decided to step down from several responsibilities that have been taking away from those things, and moderating PCA is one of them.

In short, I contacted Chris earlier today to resign as PCA moderator. I'll also be spending less time on the forums. I'm always available for help, however, by email at craig[at]godcast.org (replace the [at] with a @ sign).

Thanks for your support and understanding.

Craig - You will be missed.

Best of luck and remember - Health always trumps podcasting.

Thanks for all your hard work.

Craig, I must say that I thought you did a very fair and decent job as a moderator. Hopefully the next one will use you as an example.

Okay, without making this sound like a EULOGY....I, too, wanna thank Craig for his service on these forums and for his help to me personally (man, it feels like we should be giving him a gold watch or something).

And someday....maybe... if I'm lucky....I'll be too busy to come to these forums, also.

although i thought craig was cool at first, it seemed as his moderator power went to his head and he became a censor nazi, i guess he was just trying to do the job to his best ability...good luck whatever you go on to do...oh, and **** all those people that i got censored to say **** you to before...

"Moderators?? We don't need no STEENKIN' moderators!"

Well, actually, we do sometimes.

Craig, thank you for your efforts to keep the discourse civil and on-topic. i can certainly sympathize with your need to get priorities straight. I'm still working on that myself!

See ya around the forums, I hope!

I just got here, so I don't know who you are, but I'll miss you man. Remember all those good times we had?

Ya, me neither. But I'm sure we would have had some had we known each other. Peace.

Whoa! Thanks for all the kind words everyone but in the immortal words of Monty Python: "I'm not dead yet!"

I'll still be around, just not quite as frequently. And for the record, the only posts that were ever censored by me were ones where people were personally attacking each other (and possibly once for inappropriate sexual content). I never censored for language that I can recall.

And quigles3000...those good times we never had? I miss those too man.

Call me kooky, but I think a site dedicated to a mission statement like "Free the Airwaves" shouldn't have any form of censorship whatsoever. I recently had a whole thread deleted that was an at times heated debate with the hosts of another show, but there was nothing extreme in the content of the insults being batted around on both times. But I guess somebody's feelings got hurt, and we just can't stand for that here now can we? Life is not always civil and delicate or fair, in fact it's often a chaotic clanking mess that whirls wildly in all directions and cannot be contained. Which sounds an awful lot like this whole podcasting experiment we all love.

So free the forums I say.
Never listened to your show but good luck with it anyway Craig.

Sad to see you go Craig - at first I was a bit wary initially because of your Godcasting and religion but you proved yourself to a) have a sense of humour and b) to be cool...my g*d it can happen (I wish all Xtians were like that...).

you were an excellent moderator, patient yet hard when needed - that's not censorship, it's a fact of life on forums.

I'll miss you - hopefully see you around on Podcasters group and other places? Your help and humour were invaluable, so I'd hate for you to fade away completely - here's hoping you've got more projects on th horizon. **** this might mena I have to finally subscribe to Behind the Scenes?

Thanks for all the great posts too, Craig.

Although I never corresponded with you directly, I did learn valuable information about podcasting just by reading what you posted up on the forum.

I'm know many others have benefit from the knowledge you shared.
