I submitted to Podcast Alley a week ago (still not in), and am in iTunes.
I'm wondering for podcast directories, who is the equivalent of Google as far as being the place most people go to?
Besides that one, who would be the next 10 most heavily trafficked directories to submit to?
To the extent it matters as far as what directories would be best for me, my podcast is a political talk show format.
Thanks.

Be sure to list yourself on podcastpickle.com.
You can also check at pocast411. In addition to his own directory, Rob has a "directory of directories," many with a quick description.

iPodder.org, Odeo, iTunes podcast directory, Podcasting News' directory & Podcast.net are some of the most important directories besides Podcast Alley. Each has different strengths. Several other directories, such as Podcast Pickle, have unique strengths and are worth submitting to also.
You should look beyond that, though. There are dozens of directories, and you may want to look for ones that have strong politics sections.
Podcasting News has a comprehensive Podcast Directory List (http://www.podcastingnews.com/topics/Podcast_Directory.html). Sites are popping up all the time, though, so there are probably more.
Make sure that your feed is good before you start submitting. That means validate it, make sure it has a good feed title & description, and make sure each item has a good description.
Some may disagree - but stick with the RSS 2.0 & MP3 combination for your main feed. It will work for everybody.
Good luck with your podcast!

Why just not submit your show to all of them? Here are two pages that have most (including mine Podcast Shuffle):

When you list your podcast with www.podcastpickle.com your feed is listed right then not later and it is a great place to get some listeners.

You may want to also consider having an avatar on Podcast Alley and adding show information in your signature so this community can click through and check out your show. The PodCast Alley forums are great just for the click thru - that is if you contribute thoughtfully to the threads.
Good luck and we look forward to checking out your show.
