I've decided to go for an automatic rss feed via wordpress and feedburner. this has gone perfect. the problem lies with itunes. my podcast was previously submited (and listed) in itunes with my original feed. now i want to submit my new feed, and remove my old one. when i tried to submit my new feed, it said that it had already been submited. :? could it because my new feed and original one have the same name, and description? i've asked apple to remove my original feed, hopefully this will work. suggestions?

I would love the answer to this as well because I'm in EXACTLY the same boat. I too set it up with Feedburner and Wordpress and am now realizing that all the iTunes tags are screwed up. I'd love to create a new feed but I'm scared of messing up a good thing by asking iTunes to remove my podcast.

vader, it sounds like you have done everything you could do to fix it. email apple over and over, and just wait.

As far as Apple knows your feed is:
feeds.feedburner.com/YOURFEEDNAME
Go into the Edit Feed Service Details area in FeedBurner tool and change the Source Feed URL. DON"T resubmit your feed. Use your existing Feedburner URL. Your feed will change immediately for those users subscribed and in a few days when Apple's servers reindex.

which one is your "old feed" that iunes has now that you want to get rid of?
www.myurl.com/feed.xml or feeds.feedburner.com/myurl ?
if itunes has www.myurl.com/feed.xml (or similar), and you now want to use feedburner with itunes, you went about it in the right fashion by emailing them and just hoping they get to your email in a timely manner.
keep emailing them!

docsnavely is correct. my old feed, was myurl.com/feed.xml. now i'm moving to a new feed source, as well as being routed from feedburner. thanks

I'm trying to get my listing deleted because i've made mistakes and i've got two listing and don't want either one of them up there. How do i take my podcast off of itunes? The one listing i have doesn't even work. the other one is messed up too. I know how to do it now but i need to take these two off before i post another feed. itunes needs a podcast manager or something.
thanks for any help

Michael,
There are quite a few people waiting to get into iTunes, you might want to reconsider removing the listing. The directory updates based upon the tags so if you rename the show, or change things around ... as long as the xml url is active the music store will represent the new art.
For a temporary de-listing change the tags as follows:
- <itunes:category text="Podcasts">
<itunes:category text="Podcasts" />
</itunes:category>
Note: You will not appear in the list, but still show up on the search function. Perhaps setting the keywords to empty will remove the search as well, have not experimented with this...

you can also put the <itunes:block> tag into yuor RSS feed. this will force removal.

yep, but i'm going to try to minimize the damage. first, i'm going to get my new feed up, and my old one down on directories such as itunes and podcastalley. i will leave the old feed intact, and continue to update, for the next 2 or 3 shows. on each of these i will announce our "one click itunes subscription" and suggest everyone move to this one, or be left in the cold. (of course they can also subscribe manually with the new feed)
