We're back!ﾃつ* This week's broadcast is a few days late due to circumstances beyond our control.
Our guest this week is author William H. Kennedy, whose book Lucifer's Lodge is a disturbing analysis of Satanic sexual abuse within the Roman Catholic Church.ﾃつ* Bill told us that as many as two-thirds of the Roman Catholic bishops and cardinals worldwide have knowingly reassigned pedophile priests without disciplining them or even taking steps to keep them away from children!
Even more sinister was the savage 1998 murder of Father Alfred Kunz in Wisconsin--shortly after he threatened to go public with evidence of Satanic rituals and pedophilia in the church.ﾃつ* His stabbing death, which was accompanied by the ritual mutilation of a calf at a nearby farm, has yet to be solved.
It's a dark, evil topic that sounds like a conspiracy theorist's hallucination, but Lucifer's Lodge is thoroughly documented from news accounts published in mainstream newspapers and magazines.ﾃつ* And the evidence suggests that the Satanists and pedophiles were protected by powers at the highest levels inside the Church of Rome.
A few words about why the show is late: Derek's father, Paul Gilbert, passed away at the age of 69 on August 9th.ﾃつ* We arranged for neighbors to care for our dogs and left to take care family matters over the weekend in South Carolina.

We discussed Dad's legacy briefly during the show, especially the work he did in his final years volunteering for God's Pantry, a ministry of Messiah Lutheran Church in Mauldin, South Carolina.ﾃつ* This food pantry operated by a relatively small church (maybe 200 families), headed up by a small group of retired men (some with annoying health issues), now feeds nearly 2,000 families a month in the Greenville area--more than the Salvation Army there, we're told.

Returning to St. Louis, we discovered that our home had been attacked once again by The Killer Maple in our front yard.ﾃつ* This tree attacked last year while we were away at a book convention, and this weekend it took a piece out of our roof and went after our neighbor's house, too!
