I'm trying to put an avatar by my name with no luck. I have a picture that I want to use. This website (in Profile) says that the pic can't be more than 150 x 150 pixels and less than 20 kb. I've shunken the pic so many times and it's way less than 150 x 150 pixels but I can't seem to lower the pic to 20 kb. No matter how small I make the picture, the kb doesn't get much smaller. How would I lower the kb?
thanks,
Drew

I dropped you an email asking if you wanted to forward me your avatar. I'd try to bring the k size down for you.

Glad to help.
See what you have done, now!!
My question is:
If you had known what image he was going to used as his avatar, would you still have told him how to do it? :)

I saw that you were able to help with the picture, but not how you did it! Can you tell me how to resize my pictures to get within the size limit please?
As always, it is really cool how everyone here is willing to help, I for one appreciate it alot! I have learned so much just from reading the posts but haven't seen anything specific on this...
Thanks again,
Randy

This is not the image I want to use. I actually have some artwork that a friend did for us. There are quality issues with making a large image smaller, at least the way I'm trying to do it.
Hopefully I can get some tips from all you guys with good looking images...
Thanks,
Randy

Actually, I was not able to do it. My computer has a program that allows me to reduce the pixels but not the KB. I don't have photoshop. Comedy4Cast was nice enough to do it for me. I emailed him the pictures and he emailed them back to me, all resized and ready to use :D That was really nice of him.

How to do it: Load your image into something like Photoshop or Paintshop pro. Save it as a jpeg. You'll be asked what resolution (or quality) you'd like to use. On Photoshop, you get slider you can adjust up and down, and at each step it tells you what size the file will be. Adjust until you get the size you need, save, and you're done.
Sometimes, an avatar inspires me to download a show and give it a try. The first time I saw the avatar for the Rock and Roll Jew Show, I had to download it. Other avatars make me want to never, ever even consider trying a show. Guess which category this one falls into.

LOL, yep, this avatar is a little gross. But, I listened to the show and it's way better than you might judge from the avatar. The first time I saw the Rock and Roll Jew Show - well, I was discouraged from wanting to download. So, I guess it just shows to go ya, it takes every kind of people.
BTW, while R&R Jew Show avatar is unappealling to me (and I'm speaking just for me, so no putting words in my mouth), he seems like a nice guy and someday soon, I'm sure I'll download a show.
