If you have the latest version of iPodderX then you know doubt have been experiencing the crash that happens after the software scans for new shows. I trus the folks at iPodderX will have it fixed in a day or two but I don't want to go without my daily dose of podcasts.

I was going to use iTunes but then I remembered that iTunes always seems to be a few days behind when podcasts are actually posted. I considered downloading iPoddder for all of a nanosecond until I recalled how the last time I used it it ran for a month and then crashed and kept crashing after a reinstall. There are other apps but i can't see paying for them when I know iPodderX will be fixed in a few days.

Sigh.

You never know how much you rely on something until you don't have it or it breaks.

iTunes is never a day (or any delay, for that matter) behind in providing new shows or updates to any show.

This confusion is because there is one location that takes approximately one day to reflect changes: each podcast's homepage within the iTunes Music Store. It lists all of the podcasts for each show, but often takes a day to reflect any changes.

The important part, however, is that anyone subscribing to a podcast will receive updates immediately. There is no delay.

In other words, the window which manages your subscriptions works in real time, while the Music Store takes a handful of hours to repopulate.

So, by all means, give iTunes a shot. It's a breeze -- and very stable. And it will keep you up-to-date on podcast subscriptions instantaneously.
