A.G. Rosen, host of The Working Podcast has written the latest article in his series, The Podwire. His latest article is called The Podwire: Potential Podcasting Pitfalls. It's an excellent piece, and covers a subject that all podcasters and those looking to become podcasters should read.

The Podwire: Potential Podcasting Pitfalls

A rosy future for all podcasters? Think again. Despite overwhelming excitement from the media, marketing specialists, and podcast mavens themselves, there are several potential pitfalls that you should be cognizant of before you crack open that microphone.

Thanks for the tip. It's a good article for people thinking of doing a podcast of their own.

One thing the article mentioned was the risk of talking about your job during a podcast. People have gotten fired from their jobs for writing about it in their blogs so it's only a matter of time before it happens to soe podcasters.

I've interviewed a number of people from my job but I've made it very clear that they not mention their job or positions and if they do so, to keep the company anonymous and to discuss their work in the vaguest of ways.

It already happened. Nate from Nate & Di lost his job for doinig a podcast of he and his wife misbehaving in church.

You're right! I totally forgot about that.

The other thing the article mentioned is that these podcasts might be around for a very long time even if you decide to quit your show. I already flinch at some of the posts i've made on othe message boards when I was a much more obnoxious person.

Fortunately, my podcast is an interview show so only my guests have to worry about things they've said coming back to haunt them.

I don't think there is anything new in this article.
I think its presumptious at best, egotistical at its worst.

I hate when people say thing like...

"The fact of the matter is..."
or
"Most people will always..."

Everybody wants to be a friggin expert on podcasting.
nothing in this article is new to me, maybe to other people
but its alot of speculation without explaining what he bases
any of his opinions on. more people pulling stuff out of their
***. Waste your time if you want, but there is nothing I
found even slightly original or redeeming about this
article. It someone acting like a know it all- whats new.

He also says: "I don't care what anyone says.."

Everyone in America wants to be famous, I don't care what anyone says.
Clearly he doesn't know much about normal people either.

Think about it, do you want your sports from The Skinny on Sports podcast or ESPN? Movie reviews from guys named Adam and Sam at Cinecast or Ebert & Roeper? Recipe advice from The Restaurant guys from the Stage Left Restaurant in New Jersey or Emeril Lagasse?

What is this supposed to mean? See what I mean when its just speculation and doesn't say anything. Thats like 15% of his article. Its mostly all like that. nothing substantive, just speculation that isn't even really on point.

Emeril Lagasse is a coke-head joke of a chef that isn't respected by
anyone in his industry.
ESPN is corporate- nuff said.
Ebert and Roeper...well suck.

Nate got fired for messing around in a church and actually podcasting it?
Some people have strange judgement.
<snores>

I am so sick and tired of cocky people writing articles about things they know no more about than your average joe.
What could someone expect to accomplish by writing this article?
Read it again and please quote anything you find important, meaningful, or original.

for pete's sake it the internet, of course everything is around forever. Email, pictures, and podcasts! Wow- what an observation.
