I have been using PodProducer for a while now. I must say that it is the best one I have used so far. The only thing lacking may be some Skype connectivity but I have not addressed that aspect yet. The developer is super fast bringing suggestions into a new release. The forum is highly active with good input and topics.
Best of all, the program is FREE! Yes folks you heard it right FREE! They do take donations and when you realize how powerful this program is and how easy it is to use, you will feel guilty not contributing.

I use it every week for my show, and the software just keeps getting better. The author is *extremely* responsive to users as well.

I fully agree!! I have used it for each episode so far. PodProducer is super easy, super clean, and produces no artifact (that I have noticed) unlike other programs...... audacity......

It's also very easy to record Skype...I know people are always looking for a way to do that. PodProducer can record the final output of the soundcard, so if you can hear it, it can get recorded.
I know other software does this too, I just wanted to throw it out there.
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with PodProducer other than as a user and a fan

What if you need to edit you show? Looks like Pod producer put out mp3 but then you edit and put out another mp3. Doesn't this degrade quality? Wouldn't it be better to put out a wave and edit at high quality and only put out an mp3 at the end?
Other than that, Pod Producer looks very good. (Castblaster who?)

That's the one drawback. I record at 320 stereo and covert to WAV, do ALL my editing and mixing in WAV and then take it back to mp3.

Well Jim, your podcast sounds damm good to me, so maybe I will try that. Do you use the software compressor in Pod Producer or do you have hardware?
I have been recording/editing in Audacity, export as wave and rip to mp3 in iTunes. I love being able to record and edit in the same program, but I need a better way to cue music.
