I use Word with a mouse wheel for this, or <gasp>I read copy from a printed page</gasp>

There was a really cool thing I saw once about turning a PDA into a telepromptor for video. It was pretty cool...but I guess radio doesn't require quite the setup.

I would like to look for a free version with unlimited lines.

It kinda changes my voice when I look down at a paper.

Try lifting up the paper. Worth a try. :)

Prompters are only good if you do a video podcast... more hastle than it's worth for an audio podcast. It also helps to have someone to work the controls. You can try an auto scroll on a teleprompter if it has the option, but it's very difficult to do and still sound natural. Most people that use an autoscroll usually do one of three things.... have to rush to keep up, have to slow down to allow the prompter to catch up, or sound so scripted, they're like the Governator doing his podcast.

Looks like a big gimmick to me. I agree with you guys on just scrolling with Word, and if you don't want to have to scroll manually, theres plenty of auto-scroller programs and scripts out there for free. It probably took them a couple of hours to write this program, and now they're making money off something anyone could design. They just read in text, blow it up, and auto-scroll it on the screen. Big Whoop!

I should've specified in the original post, I thought it was silly. Hard to show sarcasm in text.
