So what does everyone listen to?
I am new to listening to podcasts, and all i really listen to is The Bill And Dan show, which i think is hilarious. That should give you some idea of the kind of comedy I enjoy. Can anyone recommend me anything?
I think i might try 'The Real Happy Hour' next...

Yeah, always funny is The Whip Report:

http://mondays.pwop.com/ is my favorite comedy podcast out there. One of the first I listened to and it still cracks me up every week.
http://www.bobandaj.info also keeps me giggling on a regular basis as does http://www.thebitterestpill.com even though I'm not sure if you'd classify either of these as comedy podcasts.

I just visited the site of the Whip Report, but I don't see an RSS feed, just a request to subscribe to it in iTunes, which I only use for testing purposes. Anyone have the XML URL?
The Real Happy Hour contains something missing from a lot of comedy podcasts: real comedy. It's very funny.
Simlacrum is also quite funny.
Five Minutes with Wichita is pretty funny too.
The Sound of the Day isn't a comedy podcast, but if you listen to five or six of them in a row (they're only about a minute long) the effect of the intro and outro music being repeated is amusing. At least, it entertains me.
I'd recommend mine, but that might be considered cheesy, so I won't.

To sum it up:
- Bill and Dan Show
- Simulacrum
- Mondays (particularly the "Dumber than me" section if you'd have to pick)
- Also, check out the "We're Addicted to the Show, Virginia!" episode of The
Bitterest Pill...hilarious, in a sort of clever and satisfactory way.
I remain undecided on the Whip Report issue. If I may call it that...an issue.
You could also drink whole lot, sit in an enclosed room alone with any one ABC broadcast, tape the incident and watch it the day after....should give you a kick.

Just wanted to say a quick thanks for the kind words. It's pretty challenging to do a daily news parody show. Because sometimes the news isn't funny...and sometimes I'm not funny. When you combine those two, you've got a train wreck.
That's why I hold to the idea that all my listeners are just suffering from gaper's delay.

There are four good comedy podcasts that I've found and listen to-
guy bauer half hour - never miss an episode
obtuse angle, though it isn't really a comedy podcast - never miss an episode
air ferg - not always funny, but sometimes very funny, I like it anyways for some reason.
NLO - don't catch them all, but all the ones I've heard have had at least some hilarious bits
jeffoest
Aug 24th, 2005, 09:37 PM
On Vox's list, NLO and Airferg always make me laugh somewhere along the lines on every show. I like Obtuse Angle but don't always get it (but admire the non-linear mind that goes into it). Gary Bauer I haven't heard yet.... will have to check him out.
Keith and the Girl also provides me with consistent laughs but they produce so much show per week that I usually only hit about 30 minutes a week or so - but it's a good 30 minutes.
Where's Whip Report been lately?
You know what the best comedy podcast is? A healthy combination of a lot of these podcasts! lol - silly thing to say but true I think. It's the variety of personalities and themes that keep me hoppin'. But then I tend to prefer music mixes over listening to one artist for 60 minutes.

ERIC -- I have to disagree with you on this one. Well, wait a second -- if you listened to the most recent episode (Spike Lee) I disagree with you. I thought it was tedious.
DANNY -- I do agree with Eric that your proclamation was in poor taste. Now, I understand that shameless self promotion has become the norm here in the forums, but that doesn't mean it's advisable. In fact, I was planning to avoid your show like the plague -- but I respect Eric's opinion so I gave it a shot. On the bright side, I actually thought your comedic instincts were good, as far as the concepts for the various bits, I just thought they were executed rather poorly. Okay, that's probably more than my two cents ...

I just listened to AirFerg for the first time last night. Very funny show Ferg. I wish I could get my sound quality as good as yours. I started a ways back, but I plan to catch up.
I can't seem to get into the shows where it's just one guy talking to me without interaction. Obtuse Angle and Dan Klass are funny, I see why they are popular, just harder for me to listen to. I'm not sure why. I don't think my inner voice can handle the competition...
The VoxMonitor guys crack me up. I heard Eric leave a voice message on AirFerg, but Ferg thought it was someone else. That made me laugh too.
And Wichita kills me. I have to listen by myself because people think I'm touched. I can't stand country music, but the interviews are genius.
Keep up the great work folks. I hope one day to be as good.

"The plots may be simple, the technical quality could be described as "basic" at best, but I laughed my *** off SO HARD at this series of podcasts from The Living Room. Outstanding stuff - just when you think you know where the jokes are going, they throw you for a loop, and I think that's one of the hallmarks of great comedy. Make sure you check out the entire "Black & White Christmas" shows. Definitely one to watch."

I bow down to your sarcasm. I've never had to dispense with insults myself. Having a black belt in Kawasaki I don't much need to. Kawasaki is the ancient martial art of running your opponent down with a motorcycle.
I kid, of course. I actually have a pink hanky in groveling. When in a threatening situation I throw myself down at the feet of my attacker and plead that they please, please don't hurt me!

No offense intended you guys, as I'm sure your shows are very good, but could you at least try to keep the idea of this thread in mind? This is about listing your favorite comedy podcasts, and while I wouldn't fault you for including your own in the list, you should also have some others -- otherwise it just becomes a big self-promotion orgy, and the board has a spot for those. It's called New Show Announcements. (http://www.podcastalley.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=16)
Thanks!
