Hi all,
Sponsorship can be handled in many ways. The one I am most interested in is where you get paid per MP3 transfer. This brings podcasting in the same vain as standard broadcast radio but up a level.
Sponsors like the idea were they get a varifiable listernship and pay for what is heard. In Standard radio broadcast they charge the sponsor according to a ratings book which can be hit or miss to the real amount of listerns. I have several sponsors who love the concept of paying for product branding instead of clickthroughs to try and sell you something. Lets face it, when a sponsor pays for advertising on the radio there is no place to click on and what they want is the name out there in your ear.
Marketing on the Internet has always been in the persuit of online sales. This marketing model is slowly being phased out. Now here is where podcasting can bring advertising life back to the Internet. From what I am hearing marketing agencies are very interested in paying for imbedded commercials just like radio. Product branding is now the name of the game for podcasting.
Best regards
