Im just starting out, and am trying to use Audacity.

My XP machine will nor read lame- 3.96.1.tar orindex.wml
I also downloaded lame 3.90.3 but this does not seem to help

"Audacity does not export MP3 Files directly, but instead uses the freely available LAME library to handle MP3 Encoding. You must obtain lame_enc.dll seperately, by downloading the LAME MP3 encoder, and then locate this file for Audacity. You only need to do this once.

Would you like to locate lame_enc.dll now?"

I click yes

I try
Only lame_enc.dll
Dynamically Linked Libraries(*.dll)
and
All files,

After that, regardless of how I try to get to the next step, I cant get it to transfer MP3 to my hard drive??

Sorry if this has the most stupidly simple answer, but is driving me nuts.

When I try to work with Windows, it becomes a linguistic problem, my Dutch Sucks.

All help welcome.

I'm positive someone here will be able to help you.

Since I do all my podcasting on Mac platform... I'm not a whiz at LAME.

Where is Adam Curry when you need him! He is fluent in Dutch! :)

I assume you're following the instructions on this page:

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq?s=install&item=lame-mp3

You need to unzip the dll file and save it somewhere. Then when you try to export to mp3, Audacity will let you browse to where you've saved the dll and install it.
